how to make easy dinner rolls

  1. Here's a simple recipe for making dinner rolls:

    Ingredients:

    • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 standard packet)
    • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F to 115°F)
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs, room temperature
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • Additional melted butter, for brushing the rolls

    Instructions:

    1. In a small bowl, combine the yeast and warm water. Stir to combine and let sit for 5 minutes, until the yeast is foamy.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir to combine.
    3. Gradually add 4 cups of the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough comes together. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, adding more flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
    4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
    5. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
    6. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each into a ball. Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish, spacing them evenly apart.
    7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
    8. Remove the rolls from the oven and brush with melted butter. Serve warm.

Enjoy your delicious and easy dinner rolls!
